Charitable Giving
Since their inception, The Davenport Companies have given back generously to the community. They consider these continuing contributions among their greatest successes. The Davenport Companies family and its employees donate time to their communities and match funds for charitable giving in many ways throughout the year.

• To broaden public access to the highest level of quality healthcare for residents and visitors.

• To encourage organizations to leverage the grants so as to produce meaningful results for the recipients.
John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Arts Foundation | Apply online
The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation will accept grant requests from Barnstable County based nonprofit organizations with a commitment to excellence in the visual and performing arts. Preferences will be given to projects, activities or capital needs that are one-time and student driven situations. Special consideration will be granted to Mid-Cape based and matching funded events.
The John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Foundation was established in 1985 to grant scholarships to Barnstable County residents in their last two years of undergraduate study or, preferably, graduate work in the visual and performing arts.
Applications may be completed here or obtained from the Foundation's office at 20 North Main St., South Yarmouth MA 02664. Personal interviews are an integral part of the scholarship granting process. Applications are reviewed each spring. The deadline for consideration during the current year is June 7.
All scholarships will be based on need, ability, grades and proven desire in the field of endeavor, be it theatre, music or art. Scholarships are granted on a year to year basis, without commitments for continuous funding.
The primary funding for the Foundation has come from family members, Davenport Realty Trust, and private gifts. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to return to the Foundation the amounts they were awarded, when reasonably possible, in order to expand its assistance to others in need of scholarship aid.
Charitable Giving - The Charitable Donation Committee
