John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Foundation Application

The arts reflect the past, enrich the present, and imagine the future. The mission
of the John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation is to serve the public good by
nurturing the expression of human creativity, support the cultivation of community
spirit, and foster the recognition and appreciation of the excellence and diversity
of our community’s artistic accomplishments.

  • To fulfill our mission, the Foundation has established the following goals:

To broaden public access to the excellence and diversity of the arts.

To foster opportunities for the creation and presentation of artistically
    excellent work.

To strengthen the role of the arts in our community’s educational system
and encourage lifelong learning in the arts.

To strengthen the organizational and financial capabilities of our
    community’s arts organizations.

Grant requests must fall within the requirement that the project support a vital,
stable and diverse art and cultural industry on Cape Cod, contributing to the
quality of life and economic vitality of the community. Preference is given to
specific program initiatives and challenge grants, not general operating
    expenses, for Mid-Cape organizations.

The following guidelines describe funding opportunities that align with the
    Foundation’s primary goals:

Access: Access to the arts for all.

Creativity: Creation and presentation of artistic work, and development of
    professional artists.
